Getting started

No. Customers scan a QR code once to get their card, which opens as a normal web page they can save to their home screen for one-tap access. There's nothing to download from an app store, and nothing for them to update later.

You share a join QR code or link — printed at the counter, on a receipt, or shared on social media. Scanning it creates the customer's card instantly. No account, password or personal details are required unless you ask for an email to enable card recovery or marketing.

Just a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a web browser. PunchCardQR's Scan mode uses your device's camera directly — there's no separate scanner hardware, printer, or point-of-sale integration required to get started.

Most owners are done in under five minutes: pick an industry template, name your reward, set how many punches it takes, and your card is live with its own QR code.

Running your program

Yes. Punches required, the reward name and description, terminology (punch, stamp, visit, point), colors and the stamp icon can all be changed at any time from your dashboard — changes apply going forward without disrupting customers already partway through their card.

Yes, on the Pro plan you can add up to five locations. The first time someone opens Scan mode on a given device, they'll be asked which location it's at; after that, the choice is remembered on that device. Every punch and redemption is attributed to the right location automatically.

Use "Undo last punch" right after scanning — it reverses the most recent punch on that card and is logged in the activity history like any other event.

On the Pro plan, you can turn on automatic bonus punches and an email on a customer's birthday, and a separate re-engagement email after a set number of inactive days. Customers only receive these if they opted in with the marketing checkbox when they joined.

Billing

No. The Free plan doesn't require a credit card. You'll only be asked for billing details if and when you choose to upgrade to Starter or Pro.

All paid plans are month-to-month. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel whenever you like from your billing settings — there's no minimum term.

Nothing is deleted. Cancelling simply stops billing. If a downgrade puts you over your new plan's limits, new customers and punches are paused until you're back within them — existing customer cards keep working.

Trust & data

A customer's card lives at a private link tied to their browser. If they clear their browser data or switch phones, they can recover their card from the Recover page using the email they provided when joining.

Yes — both the owner dashboard and the customer-facing card are web apps that work in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, or desktop, with no installation required.

Customers only provide a name or email if they choose to. Data is scoped to your business, access-controlled by row-level security, and never sold or shared with other businesses. See our privacy policy for details.
